A Major League Soccer official and performer of many functions in top-level American soccer over the years. Machnik held a variety of positions with MLS, including vice president, director of officiating and assistant to the commissioner, from the 1997 season to the 2011 season. He had held various coaching and refereeing positions in earlier years, including goalkeeper coach of the U.S. men’s national team at the 1990 World Cup. Inducted in 2017.
